Trainings
We offer different levels of training to bring transformation to your group and organization.
Topics and Discussion Points
Sessions are designed not to accomplish “immediate change” but to build the foundation for the continuous work of transformation through intentional actions and thoughtful dialogue.
- How to acknowledge white privilege, and what to do with it
- Figuring out the harms that you have unknowingly and knowingly been a part of
- An introduction to Embracing Race Curriculum
- Christian Direct Action and Non Violent Protest training
- Spiritual practices for justice practitioners and activists
Most trainings are half-day or full day, but can be extended to multi-day with shorter time increments.
Embracing Race is our foundational curriculum created for faith communities and cannot be delivered in a compacted schedule, due to the required time to process and internalize the material.
Topics offered for 1.5-2 hour sessions include:
- Black beauty, black joy, Black Power
- Differences between diversity and inclusion, and why Affirmative Action is needed
- Anti-racism work, and how white people can be allies
- Reparations and reconciliation– breaking the post-racial narrative
- Intersectionality– economics, gender, sexuality
- Viewing the history and involvement of Whiteness as a structure, and becoming more comfortable with the term ‘white supremacy’
- Identifying common forms of racism and understanding how racism has been perpetuated
- The use of intentional language by white folks to change the narrative on race
- Breaking the white and black divide through viewing other forms of racialization
- These offerings are 45 minute presentations with Q&A sessions designed to deepen and jumpstart dialogues around racial justice and the most pressing issues of the movement. Facts, experiences, activism, and academic dialogue will bring each of these lectures to life to life in ways that will invigorate an enthusiastic response from a crowd of people trying to answer the question “Where do we go from here?”
